PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Munir Isa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Cylo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cylo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Skillet - Comatose. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Cylo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cylo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cylo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Isa tries to bench press Cylo off him but Cylo keeps the position.

Cylo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cylo swings around for an armbar but Isa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cylo's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cylo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Isa's guard.

Cylo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Isa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Isa has escaped and now he's on top!
Cylo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Isa is looking to improve his position but Cylo isn't that keen on the idea.

Cylo looking for a guillotine from mount but Isa is having none of it.

Cylo has control of Isa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Isa regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cylo throwing strikes but Isa recovers to half guard. A much better position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cylo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cylo stops Isa from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cylo wants to pass the guard but Isa is defending well.
Isa is trying to stand back up but Cylo is controlling him

Isa trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Cylo wants to work for an arm triangle but Isa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Isa.
Cylo avoids the head kick by Isa.
Cylo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cylo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cylo looks gassed!
Cylo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Isa looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Isa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cylo moves out of range of the body kick from Isa.
Isa throws a head kick but Cylo moves out of range.

Cylo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Isa's half guard.
Isa wants to get back to his feet.
Cylo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
