Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Hawk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk stuffs the takedown attempt from Morrison. Morrison gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawk moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Morrison misses with a wild combination.
Hawk with a jab.
Hawk swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hawk misses with a series of wild punches.
A jab from Hawk does it's job there.

Morrison closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Morrison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawk keeps working.

Morrison tries for a kimura but Hawk is defending well.

Morrison is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hawk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Morrison wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hawk, who protects the arm well.

Morrison is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Morrison goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hawk rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Morrison's guard! Nice work there by Hawk!
Morrison wants to sweep here but Hawk controlling him for the moment.
Morrison pulls Hawk in close to his closed guard and prevents Hawk from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hawk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Hawk will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Morrison has control of Hawk's left arm, preventing Hawk from doing any damage.

Morrison is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hawk is aware though and is defending well.
Morrison manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hawk manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hawk decides to stand up.
Hawk misses with an uppercut.

Morrison will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hawk takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Morrison throws a series of punches but Hawk avoids them all with ease.
Morrison swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hawk counters with a three punch combo that has Morrison backing up. Morrison nods at Hawk to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Morrison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Morrison is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hawk still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hawk has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Morrison gets back to full guard.
Hawk won't allow Morrison to sweep him here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Morrison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Morrison had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hawk defends it easily.
Hawk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Morrison is proving hard to escape from.
Morrison manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Morrison wants to hit a switch here but Hawk passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Morrison there!

Jack Morrison comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Morrison has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
