Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Lock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Poopdeck PJ!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lock closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lock is trying to control. PJ wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lock is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, PJ has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lock is trying to control. PJ wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

PJ makes his way to full guard, as Lock worked for a kimura.

Lock drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and PJ dives on top into guard.

Lock is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and PJ defends well.
PJ is standing up over Lock. Lock looks to escape but PJ dives into side control.

Lock wants to get back to his feet but PJ is dominant here and he's now got Lock's back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from PJ. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
PJ controlling well, preventing Lock from escaping the position.
PJ is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Lock. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
PJ is riding his opponent, not letting Lock buck him off.

PJ is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
What can Lock do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lock trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
PJ wants to control but Lock is keeping busy.

Lock is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Poopdeck PJ dominated that round.
That's time! Lock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lock throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lock misses with a hook. PJ ducked under it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lock swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lock lands with an uppercut that bounces PJ off the cage and back into rage.

Lock swings for the body but PJ moves out of range.
Lock misses with a head kick.
Andrew Lock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lock lands a front kick.
Nice jab there from Lock.
Lock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by PJ.
A telegraphed right hand from Lock misses the target.
Lock ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lock fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. PJ sprawls well initially but Lock persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

PJ is defending against the submission attempts here by Lock.
Lock is trying to control. PJ wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lock looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lock is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

PJ is refusing to be controlled, as Lock sits in half guard.
PJ keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lock trying to control from half guard but PJ is working away.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
PJ darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
PJ misses with an uppercut. Lock saw that one coming.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lock tries to close the distance and clinch but PJ swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lock tries to clinch up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Lock dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Lock catches PJ with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Lock throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lock ducks under a wild hook from PJ.

PJ shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than PJ was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
PJ trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Lock looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
PJ is trying to control but Lock is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Lock is in all sorts of trouble here.

Lock tries to improve his position but instead PJ has taken his back!
PJ loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can Lock hold on?
PJ trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Lock holding both PJ 's hands and preventing any damage.
Lock turns into PJ and is now in his guard.
Lock looking to sit in guard and control but PJ gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lock looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

PJ thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
PJ thows a big elbow that misses.
Lock wants to get back to his feet but PJ is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lock wants to hit a switch here but PJ passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lock there!
Lock tries to get back to half guard but can't.
PJ lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lock hang on?
Lock working to try and regain half guard.

PJ is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lock can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lock wants to try and get back to his feet.
PJ looking to control and managing it successfully.
PJ lands a nice shot to the head.
Lock is trying to escape the mount.
PJ controlling from mount.
Poopdeck PJ has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lock bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
PJ trying to control the position.

Lock drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but PJ manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lock has PJ in his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Poopdeck PJ comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think PJ has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
