Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darius Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janis Petke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Darius Johnson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petke fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Petke steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnson throws a front kick aimed at Petke's knee but Petke avoids it well.
Petke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petke gets slowly back to his feet.

Petke changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Petke manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Johnson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Petke shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Petke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Johnson wants to stand up but Petke is controlling him.

Petke drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Petke off! Petke jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Petke is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!
Petke is breathing heavily.
Johnson wants to stand but Petke is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petke is working an open guard so Johnson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Petke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
