Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

harris shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Higgins tries to roll over but harris keeps him under control.
Higgins is looking to control harris's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Higgins avoid being mounted?

harris shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. harris showed some decent athleticism there.

Higgins manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Higgins rushes harris and presses him up against the cage.

Horrible takedown by Higgins or perhaps it was just good defense by harris which made him look bad.

Higgins scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Higgins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as harris walks away with a smile on his face. Higgins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Higgins stands up over harris, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
harris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Higgins cracks harris with a solid left hand.
harris has momentary wrist control but Higgins slips an elbow through the middle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
harris wants to get back to striking at distance but Higgins won't allow it.

harris jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Higgins walks away with a smile on his face. harris gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Higgins is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown but harris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Higgins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Higgins throws a hook but harris blocks it.

Higgins slaps away a takedown attempt from harris, before circling back to the center of the mat.
No joy there for Higgins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Higgins tries to clinch but harris moves out of range.

harris tries to pull guard but Higgins holds him up against the cage and eventually harris drops back down to his feet.

Higgins misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from harris.

harris is fighting off a takedown attempt but Higgins is just too persistent for him and manages to trip harris to the mat. harris regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Higgins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Higgins lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
harris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now harris is on top in guard.

John Higgins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Higgins throws a right and a left that both miss.
Some wild striking there from Higgins.
harris misses with a takedown attempt - Higgins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Higgins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Higgins closes the distance and clinches.
harris holding his opponent close, against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
harris on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

harris escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Higgins drives through with a takedown into guard.
harris is trying to control the position but Higgins postures up.

harris looking for subs off his back but Higgins has passed one foot through into half guard.

Higgins is nestled in close to harris, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Higgins wants to lay and pray for a moment but harris keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Higgins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Higgins escapes and gets back to his feet.

Higgins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in harris's half guard.
Higgins tries to stand but his hand is stuck under harris.

harris misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Higgins working over harris with some ground and pound. harris looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
harris moves into full guard.

harris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Higgins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Higgins won't allow harris to sweep him here.
Higgins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Higgins throwing strikes but missing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
harris controls Higgins momentarily but Higgins frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Higgins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Higgins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
