Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithian shoots in for a double leg but Velium sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smithian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Smithian throws a head kick that misses.
Velium on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Velium clinches up with Smithian and pushes him back against the cage.
Velium prevents the takedown attempt.
Smithian misses with a short punch on the inside.
Smithian tries to score a body lock takedown but Velium shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jone Velium has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bocano Smithian.
Velium is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Smithian breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Smithian finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Smithian lands with a kick to the temple. Velium shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Smithian displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Velium throws out the jab.

Smithian slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

I looks like Smithian might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Smithian won't allow Velium to get back to his feet.
Velium is trying to control the position but Smithian postures up.
Smithian sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Velium's guard.

Velium pushes Smithian off looking to stand but Smithian dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smithian throws a nice looking combination but Velium bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smithian walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Velium checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Smithian stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smithian wants it to stay on the feet.
Velium blocks a head kick by Smithian.
Smithian keeps Velium at a distance using the push kick.
Smithian feints and then cracks Velium's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Velium down.

and Smithian counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Velium might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Smithian looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smithian is keen to just control but Velium is a slippery customer.

Bocano Smithian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
