Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Jean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jean ducks under a wild hook from Johnson.
Jean has a takedown stuffed.
Jean defending well as Johnson loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jean takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jean slips under a jab from Johnson.
Jean throws a head kick that misses.
Johnson misses with a hook. Jean ducked under it nicely.
Johnson throws a hook but Jean avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jean doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Charlie Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson connects with a crisp jab.
Johnson connects with a looping right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jean throws a jab but it's blocked by Johnson.
A big right from Johnson misses.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jean.
Nice cross by Johnson.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson tests Jean's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jean takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Johnson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jean steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson.
Jean tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes.
Johnson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jean looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jean on the wrong end of a nice jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jean wants to land a leg kick but Johnson is out of range.
Jean takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Johnson misses with an uppercut.
Johnson throws a hook but Jean blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnson checks a low kick from Jean.
Johnson misses with a body punch
and Jean makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jean. Jean circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A shot to the body from Jean misses
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jean misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jean fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jean throws a half hearted mid kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Jean looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Johnson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jean's head backwards.
Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jean sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donk. Johnson catches Jean right on the button with a cross.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Jean. Jean gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Johnson checks a leg kick.
Jean tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jean fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Jean. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jean avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jean lands a head kick!
The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Billy Jean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnson lands a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jean shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson.

Jean is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Johnson.

And that's the end of the fight!
Charlie Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
