The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olsen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but desmet moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Olsen tries to clinch but desmet moves out of range.
Olsen misses with a takedown attempt - desmet sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Olsen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from desmet.
desmet feints and then cracks Olsen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Olsen down.
Olsen tries to bum rush desmet with a series of wild strikes but desmet uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Olsen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
desmet misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

A left and a right from desmet both land. Nice combination.
desmet forces Olsen back against the cage and clinches.
Olsen jumps guard but desmet stands there with Olsen around his waist. Olsen gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and desmet counters with a three punch combo that has Olsen backing up. Olsen nods at desmet to acknowledge the strikes.

Olsen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Olsen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by desmet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Olsen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed desmet's head.

Olsen tries to stand but his hand is stuck under desmet.
Olsen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
desmet is looking to escape.
desmet is refusing to be controlled, as Olsen sits in half guard.
desmet moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
desmet is trying to keep Olsen in close.
Olsen prevents desmet from getting back to his feet.
Olsen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Olsen shoots in but desmet avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and desmet counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Olsen is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Olsen closes this distance looking for a takedown but desmet circles away.

Olsen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Olsen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and desmet counters with a good, hard body kick but Olsen shrugs it off.

Olsen throws a nice looking combination but desmet bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
desmet lands a head kick. Olsen smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
desmet throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Olsen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Olsen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. desmet did well to prevent Olsen getting side control.
Olsen stops desmet from getting back to his feet.
Olsen postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for desmet to stand up.
Mowgli Olsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Olsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. desmet tries to avoid it but Olsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag desmet to the ground. desmet escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Olsen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Olsen is nestled in close to desmet, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Olsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but desmet keeps working.
Olsen stops desmet from getting back to his feet.
Olsen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

desmet is sitting in close to Olsen's body. Olsen has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! desmet is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, desmet is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Olsen.
