The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hart circles away quickly and effectively.

Ortiz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ortiz lands in his opponent's guard.

Ortiz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Ortiz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ortiz lands a couple of elbows.
Ortiz preventing the sweep.
Hart is breathing heavily.
Ortiz wants to control from the top but Hart keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ortiz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hart utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ortiz stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ortiz throws a one two combo.
Hart takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Dominic Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ortiz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ortiz is looking for a kimura but Hart is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ortiz to get the leverage.

Hart is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ortiz pulls his head out easily.

Ortiz is working for a kimura but Hart is defending it quite comfortably.
Ortiz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ortiz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hart!
Hart looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hart won't enjoy being in this position. Ortiz looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Hart is tapping - it's over boys! Ortiz picks up the submission victory!
