Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mirco Nontchev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Otto Reinold!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reinold scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
You can see the frustration on Nontchev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nontchev is looking to regain half guard here but Reinold keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Reinold shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nontchev pinned against the cage. Nontchev gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nontchev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reinold.
Otto Reinold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nontchev tries to close the distance and clinch but Reinold swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Reinold pulls Nontchev in to control the position.
Reinold is trying to control the position but Nontchev postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reinold is on top in guard.

Nontchev is looking for a triangle but Reinold pushes his legs off easily.
Reinold seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Nontchev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Reinold doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Reinold manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nontchev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nontchev is looking to control Reinold's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nontchev avoid being mounted?

Reinold got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nontchev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reinold has managed to get both his arms back between Nontchev's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Reinold slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reinold uses his free foot to push down on Nontchev's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nontchev.
Nontchev has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mirco Nontchev will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Reinold swats away the attempt to clinch by Nontchev.

so Nontchev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Reinold has control of Nontchev's left arm, preventing Nontchev from doing any damage.
Reinold bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nontchev's guard.

Nontchev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reinold is aware though and is defending well.

Nontchev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Reinold in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nontchev tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Reinold!
