PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean LeSac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal Lecter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hannibal Lecter was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jean LeSac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hannibal Lecter!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lecter looks to land a combination but LeSac avoids it well.
LeSac avoids the head kick by Lecter.
Lecter tries to clinch there but LeSac circles away.
LeSac leaves Lecter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lecter throws a series of punches but LeSac avoids them all with ease.
Lecter fails to land the takedown.
Lecter shoots for a takedown but LeSac saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jean LeSac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hannibal Lecter.

Lecter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but LeSac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

LeSac drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and LeSac jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lecter manages to escape and get back to his feet.

LeSac fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lecter sprawls well initially but LeSac persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

LeSac shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

LeSac has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lecter is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for LeSac.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

LeSac changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lecter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

LeSac is pushing down on Lecter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lecter is fighting to maintain full guard but LeSac has managed to sneak the leg through.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for LeSac, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
