PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Laggum Vane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vane might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to No Rest for the Wicked. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laggum Vane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ribeiro has taken the fight to the clinch.
Vane is pressed up against the cage. Ribeiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vane down to the mat. Vane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Vane shoots in looking for a takedown. Ribeiro tries to sprawl out of it but Vane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ribeiro manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vane is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ribeiro has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vane is looking to defend but Ribeiro has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vane! Ribeiro pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vane taps out and this one is all over!
