Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wounded Monkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Higham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Monkey might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Everything in its right place- Radio Head. Wounded Monkey has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Higham fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monkey sprawls well initially but Higham persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Monkey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Higham is keen to just control but Monkey is a slippery customer.

Higham is working for a submission of some sort.
Higham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Monkey keeps working.

Higham seems to be working for a kimura but Monkey defends the submission attempt.

Monkey tries to get to full guard but Higham has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A jab from Monkey does it's job there.
Monkey lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Higham backs up against the ropes.

Higham moves forwards but Monkey connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The fighters circle momentarily. Monkey darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wounded Monkey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Monkey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Monkey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Monkey scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Higham looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Higham is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Monkey as he works his way to full guard.

Monkey has his foot on Higham's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Higham works his way back into a safe position though.

You can see the frustration on Monkey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Monkey is looking to regain half guard here but Higham keeps moving and retains side control.

Higham goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Monkey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Higham but great work by Monkey.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Monkey wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Higham, who protects the arm well.
Higham regains half guard, as Monkey was trying to land strikes.
Higham is looking to improve his position.

Monkey wants to pass to mount but Higham is defending the position.

Higham swings around for an armbar but Monkey sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Higham's guard.
Monkey wants to control from the top but Higham keeps moving.
Monkey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Monkey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Higham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No joy there for Monkey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Monkey is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Monkey looks to land a left hand but Higham moved out of range nicely.

Higham decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Higham prevents Monkey from improving his position.

Higham is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Monkey wants to control but Higham is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Monkey is trying to get back to full guard.

Higham is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Monkey defends it well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Higham feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Higham drops back looking for a leg! Monkey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monkey manages to kick Higham off! Higham jumps back into Monkey's guard.

Higham is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Monkey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Monkey has escaped and now he's on top!

Higham has his feet on Monkey's thighs here. He's pushed Monkey off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Monkey screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
