Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riessig Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingston comes to the cage accompanied by Public Enemy - Black Steel In The Hour Of Chaos. Slade is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Conan The Destroyer. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Kingston!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Riessig Slade!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingston slips a jab and a cross from Slade.
Kingston fails with a takedown attempt.
Kingston looks to score with a jab to the body but Slade is just out of range.
Slade clobbers Kingston with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kingston is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.


It looks like Eddie Kingston has been cut.
Slade takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kingston can't get the takedown.
Slade tries to throw a body punch but Kingston avoids it by throwing Slade back against the cage.
Kingston looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Kingston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Slade escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Slade misses with a body shot.
Kingston dives in and grabs Slade's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slade pushes down on Kingston's head and hops out.
Kingston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Slade counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A clash of legs there as Kingston blocks the low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slade dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kingston shoots for a double leg takedown but Slade sprawls well. He's pushed Kingston's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kingston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A punch lands to the side of Kingston 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kingston misses the shot to the body.
Slade moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kingston misses with an uppercut.
Kingston jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Slade ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kingston.
Kingston on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kingston throws a lazy body kick
and Kingston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slade lands a body shot.
Slade buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kingston is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A slapping leg kick lands for Slade.
Kingston with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kingston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Slade ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kingston shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Kingston takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Slade chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Slade lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kingston at a distance.
Slade lands a with a good body shot.
Kingston on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Slade lands with a hook. Kingston tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


Eddie Kingston's cut is getting worse.
Kingston takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Slade connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Riessig Slade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slade lands a jab.


Kingston is rocked!
Kingston on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Slade. Slade obviously looking to wear him down.
Kingston walks straight into a right hand from Slade - that's dropped him! Slade jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kingston from any more punishment! Kingston complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Riessig Slade! Riessig Slade retains his light heavyweight title!
