Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Copeland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Tompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tompson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Copeland isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tompson stacks Copeland on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tompson!
Tompson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Tompson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Copeland throws a head kick but Tompson moves out of range.
Tompson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Copeland.

Tompson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Tompson throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Tompson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tompson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Copeland has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tompson but great work by Copeland. Tompson is looking for a sweep.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Tompson looking for a sweep but Copeland has passed into full mount! Oh no! Tompson is trying to stand up. Tompson looks gassed!
Copeland jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tompson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tompson and Copeland has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Tompson is looking to regain half guard here but Copeland keeps moving and retains side control. Tompson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Copeland has just dragged him back down to the mat.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tompson gets back to half guard. Tompson is looking for a sweep. Copeland is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tompson is trying to maintain the position but Copeland is very close to passing his half guard. Copeland missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Copeland controlling the action here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tompson wants to get back to full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Copeland wants to stand but Tompson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Tompson is looking to control Copeland's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tompson avoid being mounted?
Copeland stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Copeland tries to clinch up but Tompson circles away and keeps his distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Tompson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Copeland misses with a takedown
and Tompson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Copeland's guard now. Tompson wants to pass the guard but Copeland is keeping the position. Copeland looking to control.
Tompson advances to half guard. Tompson is looking to take a break and control but Copeland is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tompson throwing shots but Copeland is blocking nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Copeland blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tompson.

Tompson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tompson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Tompson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Copeland is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Tompson wants to control but Copeland is keeping him busy.
Tompson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Copeland has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tompson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tompson thows a huge punch but Copeland dodges it nicely.
Copeland looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Copeland is staying active underneath Tompson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tompson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dan Tompson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Tompson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Copeland won't allow Tompson to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Copeland is staying active underneath Tompson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Copeland tries to roll over but Tompson keeps him under control. Tompson is trying to control the action in half guard but Copeland is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Copeland moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Copeland keeping moving, preventing Tompson from controlling successfully.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Tompson throwing strikes but missing. Tompson trying to control the position from guard on top but Copeland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Copeland trying to keep a closed guard but Tompson is proving a slippery customer.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Copeland looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Tompson has picked Copeland up and slammed him! Copeland can't keep hold of the triangle and Tompson manages to pass to side control! Copeland is trying to improve his position. Tompson trying to control the action but Copeland is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Copeland parries the strikes from Tompson easily there. Tompson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Copeland to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Tompson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tompson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
