Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Keven Vaillancourt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Poulain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vaillancourt might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to This is the new shit. David Poulain is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keven Vaillancourt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Poulain!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaillancourt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Poulain sprawls well. Poulain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vaillancourt gets slowly back to his feet.
Poulain avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Keven Vaillancourt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poulain with a poor takedown

and Vaillancourt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Poulain won't be happy with that.
Poulain is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Poulain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vaillancourt to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vaillancourt forces his way into half guard.

Poulain wants to get back to his feet.
Keven Vaillancourt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vaillancourt in particular looking to stall.

Vaillancourt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
