The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gagoyan swings for the body but Drake moves out of range.
Gagoyan wants to land a leg kick but Drake is out of range.
Gagoyan just misses with a punch to the body.

Gagoyan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Drake is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gagoyan pulls his head out easily.
Gagoyan wants to stand up but Drake has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Drake is staying active underneath Gagoyan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Drake is controlling Gagoyan's trapped leg to prevent Gagoyan from advancing to side control.

Drake looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drake regains full guard. Nicely done.
Gagoyan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gagoyan wants to control from the top but Drake keeps moving.

Gagoyan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Drake had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gagoyan defends it easily.
Gagoyan looking to sit in guard and control but Drake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Drake pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gagoyan is keeping the position for now.

Drake drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Drake seems to have locked his on tight now - Gagoyan screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Drake, as he picks up the win!
