The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruth closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Biggy just misses with a punch to the body.
Biggy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Biggy but Biggy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Biggy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruth moves away.
Biggy misses with a double jab.
Biggy doesn't manage to clinch there - Ruth circles away.
Ruth shoots in but Biggy avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Biggy counters with a single leg into guard. Ruth didn't expect that.
Biggy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Biggy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Biggy stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Ruth to get to his feet.

Ruth has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Biggy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Moe Biggy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ruth's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Biggy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruth's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruth's back!

Ruth is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Biggy keeps control of the position easily here as Ruth tries to buck him off.

Biggy looking to break Ruth's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ruth remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Biggy will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Babe Ruth.
I think Biggy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
