PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Dobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes to the cage accompanied by It's Dark and Hell is hot. Dobson has chosen Bad Magick as his entrance music. Andrew Dobson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Dobson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dobson closes the distance and clinches up with Liddell, looking for a takedown. Dobson pushes Liddell against the cage but Liddell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dobson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Liddell connects with a single shot there.
Liddell closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Dobson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liddell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dobson tries to score with some ground and pound. Liddell controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Liddell parries the strikes from Dobson easily there. Dobson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Liddell to escape.
Dobson throws a strike aimed at the side of Liddell's head but Liddell avoids it well.
Liddell is not content to let Dobson control the position.
Dobson with the ground and pound but Liddell regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Dobson moves into full mount! Liddell won't be happy about that!
Dobson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Liddell tries to reverse the position but Dobson maintains control.

Dobson cracks Liddell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Dobson lands a big shot there that rocks Liddell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Dobson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Liddell is looking to escape.
Liddell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Liddell tries to get out of the position.
Dobson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dobson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Dobson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Dobson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Liddell is trying desperately to improve position.
Liddell is bucking up trying to escape but Dobson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Poor strikes thrown by Dobson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Liddell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Liddell is breathing heavily.
Dobson is trying to keep Liddell in close.
Dobson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chuck Liddell will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Dobson.
Liddell stalks Dobson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dobson's face. Dobson staggers backwards, shaken.
Liddell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Liddell lands with a right that hurts Dobson. Dobson looks to clinch but Liddell throws a short knee that drops Dobson. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Chuck Liddell!
