Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aubrey Peaslee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexey Shishkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aubrey Peaslee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aubrey Peaslee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Shishkin!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peaslee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Peaslee looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Peaslee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shishkin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Peaslee blocks the strikes from Shishkin.

Peaslee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Peaslee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Shishkin tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Shishkin explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Shishkin tries to clinch there but Peaslee circles away.
Shishkin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Peaslee counters with a head kick.
Shishkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Peaslee sprawls well. He's pushed Shishkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shishkin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Shishkin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Peaslee to the mat! Peaslee manages to get full guard.

Shishkin wants to stand but Peaslee is controlling his posture from full guard.
Shishkin postures up in Peaslee's guard and throws a big left but Peaslee blocks it.

Shishkin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shishkin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peaslee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Aubrey Peaslee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexey Shishkin.

Horrible takedown by Shishkin or perhaps it was just good defense by Peaslee which made him look bad.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Peaslee looking to ground and pound but Shishkin is blocking nicely.

Shishkin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Peaslee avoids it really well and circles away.

Peaslee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shishkin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peaslee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Peaslee gets to his feet. Shishkin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Peaslee tries to circle away but Shishkin has him pinned against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shishkin tries to land knees in the clinch but Peaslee avoids the damage to the body.

Peaslee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Alexey Shishkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Shishkin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Peaslee's guard.
Peaslee has control of Shishkin's left arm, preventing Shishkin from doing any damage.
Shishkin prevents Peaslee from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peaslee is on top in guard.

Peaslee stands and throws Shishkin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Peaslee slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Shishkin.
Shishkin tries to buck Peaslee off but he can't manage it.
Shishkin tries to hold on but Peaslee postures up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shishkin can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Peaslee goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Shishkin turns into him and now he's in Peaslee's guard.
Peaslee is pulling down on Shishkin's head to control his posture.
Peaslee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Peaslee has his foot on Shishkin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shishkin works his way back into a safe position though.

Alexey Shishkin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Peaslee has Shishkin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Peaslee pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shishkin tumbling to the mat - Peaslee dives into Shishkin's guard.

Peaslee goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Peaslee counters with a single leg into guard. Shishkin didn't expect that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shishkin is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Peaslee dives into side control.
Shishkin pushes Peaslee away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Peaslee gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Peaslee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shishkin, who protects the arm well.
Shishkin is trying to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aubrey Peaslee showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Peaslee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
