PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gahn Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gino Napolitano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gahn Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gino Napolitano!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jah lands a big shot that drops Napolitano! Can he finish him?


It looks like Gino Napolitano has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Napolitano is looking for a triangle but Jah pushes his legs off easily.
Napolitano looks gassed!
Jah throws a big right hand that misses.
Napolitano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jah trying to control but Napolitano is working from the bottom.
Jah is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jah throwing strikes but missing.
Jah trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jah wants to control from the top but Napolitano keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jah with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Napolitano utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Jah throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jah scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jah tries to free his leg and advance position but Napolitano is retaining full guard.
Jah won't allow Napolitano to get back to his feet.
Jah throwing strikes but missing.

Jah cracks Napolitano with a solid left hand.

Jah working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Jah lands a couple of elbows.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Napolitano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jah trying to control the position from guard on top but Napolitano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Napolitano gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jah to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jah scoring with some ground and pound.
Jah connects with a couple of short punches.
Jah has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Napolitano has momentary wrist control but Jah slips an elbow through the middle.

Jah lands a couple of digs.
Jah is looking to work some ground and pound but Napolitano has wrist control.
Jah distracts Napolitano with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Napolitano trying to keep a closed guard but Jah is proving a slippery customer.
Jah keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Napolitano's head.
Jah lands a couple of elbows.
Jah trying to control the position from guard on top but Napolitano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Napolitano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Napolitano looking for a sweep. Not yet Napolitano, not yet.
Jah scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jah wants to control from the top but Napolitano keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jah distracts Napolitano with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Napolitano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Napolitano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jah passes into half guard.
Jah landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Napolitano avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jah.
Jah is just content to waste time from the top position. Napolitano takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Jah postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Napolitano wants to stand but Jah is controlling the position.
Jah passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gahn Jah dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gino Napolitano's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jah throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Napolitano.
Jah defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Napolitano.
Jah misses the shot to the body.
Jah throws a good cross that connects.
Jah throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Napolitano avoids the body shot from Jah.
Jah tries to bum rush Napolitano with a series of wild strikes but Napolitano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Napolitano moves forwards but Jah connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Jah sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Napolitano to the ground! Jah dives into full mount looking to finish!


Napolitano is rocked!
Jah knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Napolitano on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jah unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Napolitano wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Jah celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gahn Jah!
