PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mo Cheeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Master Chuin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cheeda comes to the cage accompanied by Eye Of the Tiger. Master Chuin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheeda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chuin circles away.

Cheeda moves into range and clinches up with Chuin.
Chuin wants to break free but Cheeda has control.
Chuin is looking to break free of the clinch but Cheeda has double underhooks.
Chuin scores with a nice hook to the head.

Chuin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cheeda gets a clinch.
Cheeda goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chuin prevents it.
Chuin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

A frustrated look appears on Cheeda's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Cheeda works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chuin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cheeda is controlling him well.

Chuin pushes Cheeda away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cheeda gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Cheeda is working Chuin over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chuin is pushing Cheeda's head away, looking to escape. Cheeda manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cheeda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Master Chuin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cheeda is breathing heavily.
Chuin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cheeda.
Chuin throws a head kick but Cheeda moves out of range.
Chuin cracks Cheeda with a right hand to the side of the head.
Chuin throws a head kick that half lands.
Cheeda avoids the head kick by Chuin.
Cheeda takes a kick to the side of the head.
Chuin misses with a double jab.
Chuin lands a jab-cross combination.
Cheeda blocks a head kick by Chuin.

Chuin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cheeda circles away quickly and effectively.

Chuin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cheeda won't allow Chuin to get back to his feet.
Chuin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Cheeda is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cheeda trying to control but Chuin is working from the bottom.
Cheeda is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cheeda passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chuin is trying to stand up here but Cheeda is controlling him well.
Cheeda is looking to stall here but Chuin recovers full guard.
Chuin wants to stand up but Cheeda is controlling him.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Master Chuin will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chuin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Cheeda avoids the head kick by Chuin.
A right-left combo lands from Cheeda.
Cheeda shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Chuin lands a big head kick that sends Cheeda tumbling to the mat! Chuin takes a step backwards and waves Cheeda back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Cheeda is rocked!

It looks like Mo Cheeda has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chuin lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Cheeda is looking to close the distance but Chuin sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Cheeda crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Cheeda is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
