PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott McIntyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McIntyre comes to the ring accompanied by The Chosen One. Scott McIntyre has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Scott McIntyre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Reid!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as McIntyre blocks the leg kick.
Reid tries to close the distance and clinch but McIntyre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Reid swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dan Reid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reid will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

McIntyre moves into the clinch.
Reid has had enough of the clinch but McIntyre keeps him there for the moment.
Reid jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McIntyre walks away with a smile on his face. Reid gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

McIntyre lands a body shot in the clinch.
Reid looks gassed!
McIntyre has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Reid is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Reid is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

McIntyre has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Reid is trying to keep an underhook but McIntyre manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McIntyre takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
McIntyre has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

McIntyre is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reid is surviving well by controlling McIntyre's body position as best he can.
McIntyre lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


That has opened up Dan Reid's cut even more.

McIntyre looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
McIntyre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reid is trying to stand up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reid is trying to force a seperation but McIntyre has the dominant position.
Reid doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McIntyre has Reid pressed against the ropes, preventing Reid from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Reid tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McIntyre's elbow.

McIntyre jumps guard and drags Reid to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Reid throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McIntyre is looking to stand up but Reid isn't so interested in that idea.

McIntyre escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McIntyre is looking for a triangle but Reid pushes his legs off easily.

Reid drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reid jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McIntyre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McIntyre had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Reid is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McIntyre Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Reid's back instead.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McIntyre shoots for a takedown but Reid saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McIntyre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
