The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels has closed the distance and engaged Cave in a clinch.
Cave trying to land knees to the body.
Cave tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Daniels avoids it.

Daniels pulls guard effortlessly.
Daniels pulls Cave in to control the position.
Daniels trying to keep a closed guard but Cave is proving a slippery customer.
Daniels wants to sweep but no luck.
Cave is looking to advance position but Daniels has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Daniels wants to control the pace but Cave is squirming around nicely.

Daniels get's back to his feet.

Daniels forces Cave back against the cage and clinches.

Cave throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Daniels blocks it with crossed arms.

Daniels has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Cave is trying to keep an underhook but Daniels manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Daniels is taking a breather. Cave says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cave is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daniels pulls his head out easily.
Cave is pressing down on Daniels's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Cave looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Daniels wants to control from the top but Cave keeps moving.

Cave isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Daniels stacks Cave on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Daniels!

Daniels has the hooks in. Cave is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Cave manages to reverse the position and now he's in Daniels's guard. Nice work there by Cave.
Daniels seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Daniels wants to control but Cave is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cave is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Daniels is just riding it out for now. Cave eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
