Thomson comes to the cage accompanied by Sabre. Liddell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: It's Dark and Hell is hot. Gabriel Thomson could well score a knockout today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Thomson.
Liddell has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Chuck Liddell has been cut.
Liddell avoids the body shot from Thomson.
Liddell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomson circles away.
Liddell fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Thomson keeps the fight on the outside.
Thomson slaps away a takedown attempt from Liddell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gabriel Thomson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Liddell.
Thomson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Liddell checks it well.
Gabriel Thomson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A right-left combo lands from Thomson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thomson throws a head kick that misses.
Liddell walks into a left hand.
Thomson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Liddell's sensitive parts.
No luck for Liddell with that takedown attempt.
Liddell shoots for a takedown but Thomson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Thomson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liddell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thomson tries to avoid it but Liddell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thomson to the ground. Thomson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Liddell looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That has opened up Chuck Liddell's cut even more.
Liddell tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Liddell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thomson connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Liddell to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Thomson!
