The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DiBiase fails with a takedown attempt.
DiBiase tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ferguson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

DiBiase gets caught flat footed, as Ferguson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferguson wanted to stand there but DiBiase had control of the position.
Ferguson postures up in DiBiase's guard and throws a big left but DiBiase blocks it.

Ferguson stands up from DiBiase's guard - Ferguson perhaps looking for a knockout.

DiBiase gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ferguson stands and steps away. DiBiase gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Ferguson closes the distance and clinches up with DiBiase, looking for a takedown. Ferguson pushes DiBiase against the cage but DiBiase circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
DiBiase looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

DiBiase breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A nice inside leg kick there by DiBiase. That's going to slow Ferguson down.
DiBiase circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ferguson moves in looking to clinch but DiBiase pushes him off.
A slow jab from Ferguson misses its intended target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ferguson, as that shot connected.
DiBiase looks gassed!

DiBiase closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ferguson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ferguson manages to end up in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferguson decides to stand up, so the ref orders DiBiase to his feet.

and DiBiase counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by DiBiase.
DiBiase has Ferguson pressed against the cage, preventing Ferguson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
DiBiase misses with a punch on the inside.
DiBiase wants a takedown but no success here.

Ferguson tightens his grip and picks DiBiase up, before dumping him to the ground. DiBiase manages to land in guard.
Ferguson tries to free his leg and advance position but DiBiase is retaining full guard.

Ferguson wants to control from the top but DiBiase keeps moving.

Ferguson gets to his feet. DiBiase looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Ferguson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ferguson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but DiBiase paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ferguson throws a right and a left that both miss.

Ferguson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ferguson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ferguson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

DiBiase gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ferguson wants to stand but DiBiase is controlling his posture from full guard.

Ferguson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on DiBiase, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DiBiase has taken the fight to the clinch.
DiBiase is breathing heavily.

Ferguson pulls guard.

Ferguson kicks DiBiase off and gets to his feet.
Kevin Ferguson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ferguson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ferguson dives in and grabs DiBiase's left leg, looking for a takedown. DiBiase pushes down on Ferguson's head and hops out.

DiBiase avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ferguson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
DiBiase tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
DiBiase takes a big shot to the side of the head.

DiBiase is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
I would not like to be DiBiase right now.

Ferguson has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. DiBiase is defending well but eventually Ferguson manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! DiBiase has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
