Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jayceon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and sergius Serra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serra has chosen Drowning Pool- The Game as his entrance music. sergius Serra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jayceon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, sergius Serra!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serra is looking to clinch.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.

Jones moves into the clinch.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones tries for a kimura but Serra is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Serra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Serra stops Jones from passing to mount.
Jones trying to control the action but Serra is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Serra swinging wilding here.
Serra tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Serra shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Serra showed some decent athleticism there.
Jones is trying to stand.
Serra should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Serra is working for a submission of some sort.
Serra is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Serra looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Serra is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
Serra thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
Serra not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Serra is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.

Serra can't do much from the bottom here.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Serra is looking to reverse the position.
Jones tries to move to mount but Serra blocks the move with his legs.
Jones tries to stand but Serra is controlling his head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Serra misses with a two punch combination.
Serra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones lands a head kick!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Serra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Serra tries to clinch up.
Serra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Serra misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Serra is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

Jones has managed to clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Serra creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Serra breaks from the clinch.
Serra tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Serra.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Serra cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Serra fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Serra looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Serra lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Jones tries to reverse the position but Serra maintains control.

Serra can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.

sergius Serra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Serra on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Serra just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Serra has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Serra lands a nice uppercut.

Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Serra regains guard immediately.
Serra is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Serra looking to control.
Jones preventing the sweep.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Serra trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.

Serra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.

Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Serra turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.

Serra works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.
Serra trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Serra is controlling him.

Serra is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Serra in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Serra distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Serra's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Serra is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Serra's back instead.
Jones is trying to stick to Serra's back but Serra is turning into Jones. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jones's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Serra.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Serra is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Jones counters with a head kick. That will keep Serra thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
