The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cilia shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cilia was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cilia wants to finish this one by submission but Lawrence is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cilia.
Cilia is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lawrence has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lawrence!
Cilia has a closed guard, preventing Lawrence from standing up.
Cilia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lawrence doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lawrence manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawrence avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cilia has his foot on Lawrence's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lawrence works his way back into a safe position though.
Lawrence must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lawrence gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cilia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cilia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lawrence looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lawrence looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lawrence!

Lawrence stands up and beckons Cilia to his feet.

and Lawrence counters with a series of strikes. Cilia will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Lawrence counters with a head kick that wobbles Cilia - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Lawrence sends him down. This one is all over!
