The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eater uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by smith.
Eater tries for a takedown but smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
smith leaves Eater with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

smith gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Eater is looking to break free of the clinch but smith has double underhooks.
Eater lands with a short punch from the clinch.
smith blocks the elbow strike.
Eater goes for a takedown attempt but smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A clash of legs there as Eater blocks the low kick.

and smith counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Eater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

smith does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
