Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Xavi D Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Redfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). D Cruz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is mama said knock you out. Chris Redfield is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from D Cruz misses.
Redfield tries to clinch up.
Redfield sizes up D Cruz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Redfield closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. D Cruz did well to prevent Redfield getting side control.
D Cruz won't allow Redfield to pass to mount.
Redfield is trying to control the action in half guard but D Cruz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Redfield is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and D Cruz defends it well.

Redfield has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Redfield avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

D Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.
D Cruz goes for a takedown attempt but Redfield pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Redfield shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has D Cruz pinned against the cage. D Cruz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
D Cruz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
D Cruz lands with a straight right. Redfield didn't see that one coming.
Redfield bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Redfield takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Xavi D Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Redfield takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
D Cruz jabbing away but nothing is landing.
D Cruz cracks Redfield with a right hand to the side of the head.
D Cruz misses with a looping left.
Redfield fails in his attempt to clinch.
Horrible takedown by Redfield or perhaps it was just good defense by D Cruz which made him look bad.

Redfield tries to clinch up but D Cruz circles away and keeps his distance.
D Cruz connects with a right hand. Redfield shakes it off.
A slow jab from D Cruz misses its intended target.
D Cruz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Redfield paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Redfield moves forwards but D Cruz connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts D Cruz, as that shot connected.
Redfield has a takedown stuffed.
Xavi D Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Redfield.
Redfield walks into a straight right hand from D Cruz.
D Cruz lands a nice leg kick that just misses Redfield's sensitive parts.

D Cruz moves into range and clinches up with Redfield.

D Cruz has picked Redfield up - he's going for a ride! D Cruz dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Redfield counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

D Cruz is trying to drag Redfield to the mat but Redfield just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

D Cruz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Redfield checks a leg kick.
D Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Redfield shows good takedown defense.
D Cruz is breathing heavily.

D Cruz clinches.

D Cruz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Redfield regains guard.

Redfield has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. D Cruz doesn't defend quickly enough and Redfield has managed to lock this one up! Can D Cruz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Redfield on a fantastic submission victory.
