Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between joseph D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Laveaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). joseph D has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, joseph D!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pierre Laveaux!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laveaux is looking to clinch.
D checks a leg kick nicely.

Laveaux feints and as D raises his hands in defense, Laveaux changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
D will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Laveaux trying to stand up but can't free himself from D's guard.
Laveaux really doesn't want to stay on the ground with D. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

D had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Laveaux is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. D Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Laveaux's back instead.
Laveaux is trying to break free.
Laveaux looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Laveaux tries to escape but D has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Laveaux has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Laveaux rolls, trying to escape but D keeps control of the position.
Laveaux is trying to get back to his feet but D has full control of the position and if anything, Laveaux has just worked his way into a worse spot.
D wants to control but Laveaux is keeping busy.
Laveaux holding both D 's hands and preventing any damage.
D looking to hold on to the position here but Laveaux rolls and ends up regaining guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Laveaux.

Laveaux shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Laveaux showed some decent athleticism there.

Laveaux is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

and Laveaux makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
D is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Laveaux, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Laveaux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Laveaux ducks down and throws a hook to the body but D moves away.

Laveaux fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with D, pushing him back against the cage.
Laveaux throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ds head.
Laveaux is looking to break free of the clinch but D has double underhooks.

Laveaux misses with a series of wild punches.
Laveaux swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
D avoids the head kick by Laveaux.
Laveaux defends well against a solid takedown attempt from D.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for joseph D. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laveaux looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Laveaux is looking to land body kicks.
Laveaux tries to score a power double leg takedown but D sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laveaux somewhat.

D is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Laveaux tries to kick D off but D keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
D is trying to control. Laveaux wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

D really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laveaux is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Laveaux has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes D off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Laveaux shoots in looking for a takedown. D tries to sprawl out of it but Laveaux keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. D manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

D jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Laveaux walks away with a smile on his face. D gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Laveaux throws his legs up looking for a submission but D uses it to pass to side control.

Laveaux wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Laveaux tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but D wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Laveaux can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Laveaux has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
