Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort has chosen WESTBAM-Agharta as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Belfort throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Payne tries to bench press Belfort off him but Belfort keeps the position.
Payne is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Belfort not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payne moves into full guard.
Payne is looking for a triangle but Belfort pushes his legs off easily.
Belfort trying to control but Payne is working from the bottom.
Payne trying to keep a closed guard but Belfort is proving a slippery customer.
Payne is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Payne wants to sweep but no luck.
Belfort is working Payne over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Payne has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Belfort can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Payne looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Belfort puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Payne is looking to improve his position.
Belfort trying to mount his opponent but Payne defends it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Belfort not doing much here.
Belfort tries to pass to full mount but Payne defends it.
Payne is not content to let Belfort control the position.
Belfort might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Payne kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Belfort tries to stand but can't do so whilst Payne controls his leg.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Payne avoids the head kick by Belfort.

Payne throws a sloppy head kick and Belfort moves out of range easily.
Payne moves into range and clinches up with Belfort.
Payne jumps guard and drags Belfort to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Payne had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Belfort is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Payne Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Belfort's back instead.
Payne is breathing heavily.
Belfort looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Payne keeps control of the position as Belfort tries to break free.
Belfort prevents Payne from getting a body triangle.
Payne looking for the choke from the back.

Payne misses with a punch to the head.
Payne is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Belfort defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Payne has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Belfort fending off the submission attempt from Payne.
Belfort trying to control the hands but Payne won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Payne dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Belfort lands a high kick!

and Payne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Belfort working hard to break the clinch.
Payne blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Belfort wants to break the clinch but can't.
Payne jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Belfort walks away with a smile on his face. Payne gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Payne tries to clinch up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Payne wants to clinch up but Belfort keeps it at a distance.
Payne moves in looking to clinch but Belfort pushes him off.
Belfort is breathing heavily.
Payne throws a lazy head kick
and Belfort counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Belfort.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Belfort as Payne tries to tie him up.
Payne keeps control of Belfort as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Payne pulls guard.
Payne pushes a forearm under Belfort's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Belfort is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
