Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Sigic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Georgi Fotev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fotev throws a sloppy head kick and Sigic moves out of range easily.
Fotev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Georgi Fotev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fotev connects with a high kick.
Fotev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fotev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Fotev.

Sigic gets the takedown into side control.

Sigic looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sigic tries for a kimura but Fotev is defending well.

Sigic is putting a hurting on Fotev here, landing some big shots from side control.

Fotev is pushing Sigic's head away, looking to escape. Sigic manages to hold on to the position though.
Sigic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sigic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fotev, who protects the arm well.
Sigic is breathing heavily.

Sigic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fotev is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sigic lands a nice forearm strike.

Sigic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fotev has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fotev is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sigic has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Fotev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sigic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sigic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The strikes coming from Sigic are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Fotev tries to buck Sigic off but Sigic is having none of it.
Sigic lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Fotev down.

Sigic has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fotev is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sigic yanks on the arm and Fotev is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sigic.
