PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kilo Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and randy hedderick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). hedderick has chosen check my swag as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hedderick circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kane moves into the clinch.
hedderick prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kane tries to pull guard but hedderick won't allow it.

hedderick pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
hedderick closes the distance but Kane moves to the side
and Kane counters with a nice kick to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
hedderick misses with a head kick.
Kane shoots in looking for a takedown. hedderick tries to sprawl out of it but Kane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. hedderick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

hedderick slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kane goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now hedderick is on top in guard.

hedderick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kane is looking to improve his position but hedderick isn't that keen on the idea.

Kane is working an open guard so hedderick takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and hedderick counters with a body kick that stops Kane in his tracks momentarily.
Kane is looking to clinch but hedderick is avoiding it.

hedderick feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kane's calf.
Horrible takedown by hedderick or perhaps it was just good defense by Kane which made him look bad.

Kane decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. hedderick swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kilo Kane.
I think hedderick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
