Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamie Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulo Fujimoto!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujimoto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gold sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fujimoto somewhat.
Gold stuffs the takedown.

Fujimoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Gold manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fujimoto manages to get himself to full guard.
Gold controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Fujimoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gold thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gold slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gold advances to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fujimoto wants to improve his position but Gold is controlling well.
Gold controlling the action here.
Gold has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Gold seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fujimoto for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gold wants to advance to full mount but Fujimoto doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Gold advances position into side control!
Fujimoto tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gold wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Fujimoto is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Gold wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fujimoto, who protects the arm well.
Fujimoto wants to control but Gold postures up.

Gold is working to tighten is grip on Fujimoto's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Fujimoto has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Gold is really squeezing tight and eventually Fujimoto passes out! Gold breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Jamie Gold!
