The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogain misses with a body shot.
Rogain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rogain tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rogain tries to work over Silva's front leg with a kick but Silva checks it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva.
Rogain looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Rogain is looking to score with low kicks.

Rogain throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rogain pinned against the cage. Rogain gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva jumps guard.
Rogain is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him.

Rogain decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
A solid leg kick lands there for Silva.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Rogain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Silva shoots in but Rogain avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Rogain throws a head kick that misses.

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silva won't allow Rogain to get back to his feet.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Rogain has wrist control.
Rogain is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him.
Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rogain looks gassed!
Rogain utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silva prevents Rogain from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Silva clinches up with Rogain and pushes him back against the cage.
Rogain wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rogain manages to break the clinch.
A left and a right from Rogain both land. Nice combination.
Silva has a takedown stuffed.
Rogain misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rogain tries to land a body kick

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rogain's guard now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rogain is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rogain is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rogain has escaped and now he's on top!

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Rogain is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rogain's back instead.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Silva's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Silva is working for a rear naked choke. Rogain is not defending it well and Silva has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Rogain refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Rogain's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
