Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Duke Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Converse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Converse throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Richard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Richard is going olschool here, as he tries to force Converse to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Converse shrugs it off.

Richard jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Converse manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Converse is looking for a sweep. Richard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Richard moves nicely into side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Converse shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Richard counters with a shoot takedown. Converse fights it but they end up in guard.

Richard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Converse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Richard has managed to get both his arms back between Converse's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Converse scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Richard manages to mount him!
Converse wants to hold on but Richard pushes him away.

Richard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Converse can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Converse sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Richard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Converse swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Converse is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Converse pushes down on Richard's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Richard misses with some strikes from the bottom.
