Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Reynoso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and London Oswalt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oswalt is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Country Boy can Survive. London Oswalt is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, London Oswalt!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynoso throws out a powerful jab.

Reynoso darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Oswalt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Reynoso throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Oswalt works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Oswalt trying to control the position.
Oswalt keeping moving, preventing Reynoso from controlling successfully.
Reynoso is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Oswalt has momentary wrist control but Reynoso slips an elbow through the middle.
Reynoso has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Oswalt misses with a takedown

and Reynoso counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Reynoso drops back, looking for a kneebar! Oswalt looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Oswalt looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Oswalt!
Reynoso is not content to let Oswalt control the position.
Reynoso gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Oswalt lands a big shot there that rocks Reynoso but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oswalt avoids the attempt from Reynoso to control.
Reynoso controls the position.
Reynoso blocking the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reynoso is looking to improve his position but Oswalt isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reynoso is desperately trying to improve his position but Oswalt has a good base and remains in mount.

Oswalt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reynoso is looking to escape.
Reynoso tries to hold on but Oswalt pushes him away.
Oswalt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reynoso. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Oswalt prevents Reynoso from getting the reversal.

Oswalt has hold of Reynoso's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reynoso manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Reynoso is in all sorts of trouble here.

Oswalt is landing with some decent strikes but Reynoso is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

and Reynoso decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oswalt's guard.

Reynoso lands a nice hook to Oswalt's body. Oswalt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oswalt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oswalt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reynoso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
