Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Jason Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Monroe Drake!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pearson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Drake should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Pearson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Drake breaks from the clinch.
Pearson keeps the fight on the outside.
Pearson looks to land a combination but Drake avoids it well.
Pearson closes the distance looking to clinch

and Drake counters with a single leg into guard. Pearson didn't expect that.
Drake connects with a couple of short punches.
Drake postures up in Pearson's guard and throws a big left but Pearson blocks it.
Drake thows a big elbow that misses.
Pearson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pearson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Drake is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Drake is looking to stand up but Pearson won't let him.
Drake pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pearson is keeping the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pearson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drake gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Drake wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Pearson's closed guard. He's half up but Pearson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Pearson pivots and extends the arm, Drake falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Pearson! Well done that man!
