The crowd seem to be enjoying Fuerte's choice of entrance music: Minority- Green Day. Felix Smith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuerte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Fuerte fails with a takedown attempt.

Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fuerte avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Smith gets to his feet - Fuerte follows without any prompting.

Smith gets a takedown into half guard.
Fuerte looks gassed!
Smith stalling.

Smith not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith stops Fuerte from getting back to his feet.
Fuerte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fuerte can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Felix Smith just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall.
Smith is nestled in close to Fuerte, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Smith is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Fuerte is trying to escape and Smith transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Fuerte is forced to tap! Nice work there by Smith! Very nice indeed!
