The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schwein swats away the attempt to clinch by Ryan.
A punch combination from Schwein misses.
Schwein is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ryan.
Ryan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schwein.
Schwein lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Schwein.
Ryan moves in looking to clinch but Schwein pushes him off.
Schwein lands with an uppercut that bounces Ryan off the cage and back into rage.

Ryan moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Ryan has Schwein pressed against the cage, preventing Schwein from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ryan swings wildly with an uppercut but Schwein uses good head movement to avoid it.

Ryan tries to score a body lock takedown but Schwein shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Schwein is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Ryan misses with a takedown attempt - Schwein sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Schwein throws a right hand that Ryan ducks under and follows up with a left that Ryan also avoids with ease.
Schwein throws a left that rocks Ryan and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Schwein dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Ryan regain composure!
Schwein misses with the ground and pound.
Schwein is looking to take a break and control but Ryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ryan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Schwein decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ryan to his feet.

Schwein lands a jab.
Schwein throws a right hand that Ryan ducks under and follows up with a left that Ryan also avoids with ease.
Schwein throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schwein swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Brendan Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Schwein.
Schwein fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ryan on the side of the head.
Ryan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ryan looks gassed!

Ryan is rocked!

Ryan closes the distance and clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Ryan tries a body shot but Schwein blocks it.
Schwein has a couple of punches blocked by Ryan.

Schwein swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ryan keeps control of Schwein as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Ryan doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Schwein's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ryan tries to clinch there but Schwein circles away.

Ryan rushes Schwein and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schwein lands a right hook to the body.
Schwein lands with a nice combination. Ryan backs away looking to recover.
Schwein lands with a cross.
Schwein tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ryan was well out of range. Poor timing from Schwein.
Ryan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Ryan is still on wobbly legs! Can Schwein finish him?
Schwein cracks Ryan with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Ryan falls to his knees and Schwein doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
