The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mac tries to keep at a distance but silva has taken the fight into the clinch.

silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mac fails with a takedown attempt.
silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mac.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
silva tries to clinch but Mac is having none of it.

silva wants to stand but Mac has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mac is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst silva is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mac's guard.
Mac tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mac pulls silva in close to his closed guard and prevents silva from doing any damage or advancing position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mac is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mac defends well.

silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
silva is trying to keep Mac in close.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
silva can't keep his opponent in guard - Mac advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Mac content to control rather than advance.
silva is trying to stand up here but Mac is controlling him well.
Mac throwing shots but silva is blocking nicely.

Mac is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! silva is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
