Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Kamm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vincent Vega!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kamm as he avoids it easily.
Kamm throws a sloppy head kick and Vega moves out of range easily.
Vega fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kamm sprawls well initially but Vega persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kamm actively working from the bottom here.
Kamm gets full guard.
Vega stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamm swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vega preventing the sweep.
Kamm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vega doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vega manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kamm holds on and takes a little breather.
Kamm wriggles free and stands up.
Vega fails with a takedown attempt.
Kamm throws a head kick but Vega moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kamm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vega.
Vega shoots in but no luck this time.
Tom Kamm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincent Vega.
Kamm fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Vega shoots in for a takedown but Kamm shows good takedown defense.
Vega takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Vega looks gassed!
Kamm cracks Vega with an uppercut from hell and Vega crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Kamm's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Vega is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kamm stands up and waves to Vega to follow him.
Vega shoots in but Kamm avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vega changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kamm tries to avoid it but Vega manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kamm to the ground. Kamm escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kamm fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vega looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kamm lands a two punch combo.
Kamm digs a good hook to Vega's body.
Kamm grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Vega takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Kamm cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tom Kamm!
