The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from lidell.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from lidell.
lidell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
lidell misses with a combination
and Johnson counters with a body kick.
lidell looks gassed!
lidell lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Johnson looks to land a combination but lidell avoids it well.
Johnson connects with the punch.

It looks like chuck lidell has been cut.
Johnson dips to his left and cracks lidell with an uppercut!

Oooh a lovely combination from Johnson sends lidell down but not out. Johnson dives into side control looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson wants to stand but lidell is controlling his arm.

Johnson decides to stand up, so the ref orders lidell to his feet.

A combination from Johnson does no damage.

Johnson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on lidell if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnson lands a left and a right that sends lidell crashing to the canvas! Johnson dives into mount looking to finish!

That has opened up chuck lidell's cut even more.

Johnson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as lidell is looking to escape.

Johnson wants to control the pace but lidell is squirming around nicely.
You get the feeling that lidell really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Johnson is looking to stand but Johnson has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Johnson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Johnson tries to bum rush lidell with a series of wild strikes but lidell uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Darius Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fight stays on the outside here - lidell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

lidell is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Johnson.

chuck lidell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. lidell doesn't seem phased though.

chuck lidell's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at chuck lidell's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
