PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between los de (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simone Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). de comes to the cage accompanied by poisen. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de misses with a double jab.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
de tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten de somewhat.
de throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely.
de with a lazy takedown attempt

and Jackson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in de's guard.
de wants to stand but Jackson is controlling the position.
de is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jackson drops back looking for a leg! de is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and de manages to kick Jackson off! Jackson jumps back into de's guard.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
de wants to stand and escape but Jackson is having none of it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
de trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but de is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
de throws a left and a right that both miss

so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
de wants to control the position but Jackson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de is looking to get back to is feet but Jackson passes into side control.
Jackson prevents de from escaping the position.
de tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
de is breathing heavily.
de controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jackson is working for a rear naked choke. de is not defending it well and Jackson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! de refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of de's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
