PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between bob bow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and tommy wan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, bob bow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tommy wan!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
bow shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. wan defends it nicely.

wan instigates a clinch.

wan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
bow shoots in and drives through. wan sprawls well.

wan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with bow, pushing him back against the cage.

wan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
bow closes the distance but wan moves to the side
and wan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
bow is breathing heavily.

wan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
wan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

wan gets to his feet - bow follows without any prompting.

That's one minute gone in the round.

wan closes the distance and clinches.

wan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

wan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
wan sitting in guard, not really doing much.

wan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
wan lands a head kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

wan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

bow wants to get back to his feet.
bow punching from the bottom.

wan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
bow pushes wan off but wan dives into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

bow is trying to control wan's posture but wan avoids it.
bow tries to buck wan off but wan is having none of it.
wan just content to control the position.
bow struggling a bit here.
bow is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
wan trying to control the action but bow is working from the bottom.
bow tries to bench press wan off him but wan keeps the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
bow misses with a takedown attempt

and wan counters with a shoot takedown. bow fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for bob bow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
bow is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst wan is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and wan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
wan looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
bow keeping moving, preventing wan from controlling successfully.
bow throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
wan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

wan postures up.

wan stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice sprawl there from bow as wan shoots in.

bow bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
bow throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
wan can't do much from the bottom here.

wan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
bow in side control, just content to control the action for now.
bow wants to lay and pray for a moment but wan keeps working.

bow in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
bow trying to control the position but wan is working away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
bow has his takedown stuffed

and wan counters with a single leg into guard. bow didn't expect that.
wan stays in close to bow's body and controls the position.
wan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
bow is trying to control the position but wan postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

bow is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and wan defends well.
bow looking to hit a scissor sweep but wan is one step ahead there.
bow not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

tommy wan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! bow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

bow throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
bow trying to control but wan is working from the bottom.

bow is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! wan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! wan has escaped and now he's on top!

bow looking for a sweep. Not yet bow, not yet.

bow has his foot on wan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. wan works his way back into a safe position though.
wan wants to pass the guard but bow is keeping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
wan wants to control from the top but bow keeps moving.

bow had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. wan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. bow Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take wan's back instead.
wan holding both bow 's hands and preventing any damage.
wan trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

bow looking for the choke but no joy.
wan tries to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
bow loading up with punches from the back mount - how long can wan hold on?
wan breaks bow's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
wan stopping the sweep attempt from bow.
bow wants to stand and escape but wan is having none of it.
wan looking to pass the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
wan passes bow's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
bob bow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
tommy wan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

bow looking for a kimura from the bottom but wan passes into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
bob bow showed his dominance in that final round.
Well wan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
