Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Carter's choice of entrance music: Empire State of Mind. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter shoots for a double leg takedown but Joe sprawls well. He's pushed Carter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Joe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Joe blocks a body shot from Carter.

Joe is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Carter can't fight it off and eventually Joe manages to take the fight to the floor. Carter looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Joe stands up over Carter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Joe controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Joe is pushing down on Carter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carter is fighting to maintain full guard but Joe has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Joe landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Carter is looking to escape.
Joe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Carter is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
