Yates's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, FACE Fighting. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Butler Yates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santiago Huerta!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huerta shoots in but Yates avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Huerta counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yates won't be happy with that.
Huerta is looking to take a break and control but Yates is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Yates can't do much from the bottom here.
Huerta tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Yates stands up over Huerta, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Yates stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huerta swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yates working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huerta doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huerta manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Huerta drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Yates dives on top into guard.

Yates shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Yates showed some decent athleticism there.

Yates is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Yates has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Huerta is looking to get back to is feet but Yates passes into side control.

Yates uses his free foot to push down on Huerta's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Huerta.

Yates swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Huerta is now in Yates's guard. A big mistake from Yates there, giving up the dominant position!

Yates escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Huerta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Huerta reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Huerta taps out! nice BJJ there by Yates!
