Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Rae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Rae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Evans!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rae scores with a jab to the jaw.


It looks like Jack Evans has been cut.
Evans has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Evans there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rae cracks Evans with a big right hand and Evans goes down!


Evans is rocked!
Rae has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rae doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rae manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Evans is still in real trouble! Can Rae finish him?

Evans working for a triangle but Rae defends it easily.
Evans seems to have recovered his senses.

Evans working for submissions but it's allowed Rae to get to half guard.

Rae is looking for a kimura here.

Rae seems to be working for a kimura but Evans defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rae is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Evans sees it coming and defends easily.
Rae throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Evans looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Rae is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Evans has managed to free his arm - good work.

Evans actively working from the bottom here.
Evans looks gassed!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rae looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rae is working for a kimura but Evans is defending it quite comfortably.

Evans is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rae pulls his head out easily.

Rae is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Evans actively working from the bottom here.
Rae will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Evans avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rae.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evans is defending against the submission attempts here by Rae.

Rae looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rae in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Evans looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Rae pushes past his half guard into mount!

Rae working for a guillotine from mount but Evans is in no mood to give up.
Evans keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Rae with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rae has control of Evans's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Evans regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Rae dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jack Evans's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Evans takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rae sprawls well. Rae wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Rae is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Rae lands an overhand right.
Rae thows a body kick. Evans tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rae lands with an overhand left.
Rae throws a head kick but Evans moves out of range.
Evans is breathing heavily.
Rae throws a series of punches but Evans moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rae lands a big head kick that sends Evans to the canvas! Rae follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Rae!
