Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dante Matheus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demetrius Rowser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Demetrius Rowser acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dante Matheus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demetrius Rowser!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matheus closes the distance and clinches up with Rowser, looking for a takedown. Matheus pushes Rowser against the cage but Rowser circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Matheus looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rowser takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rowser changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Matheus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Rowser tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rowser taking a break here but Matheus is having none of it and regains half guard.
Rowser controlling the action here.
Rowser thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Matheus's head.

Rowser is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Matheus avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rowser.
Matheus wants to improve his position but Rowser is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rowser really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matheus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rowser passes to full mount!
Matheus tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rowser landing strikes from the mount and Matheus is in trouble!
Matheus is squirming around, avoiding Rowser's attempts to control the action.

Rowser controlling the pace for now.

Rowser lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Matheus keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Matheus tries to reverse the position but Rowser maintains control.

Rowser with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Matheus stuffs the takedown attempt from Rowser. Rowser gets slowly back to his feet.
Matheus is looking to land body kicks.
Rowser scores with a jab to the head.
Rowser has a takedown stuffed.
Rowser shoots in for a takedown but Matheus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dante Matheus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demetrius Rowser.
Matheus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rowser.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matheus tries to close the distance and clinch but Rowser swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Matheus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rowser avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Rowser gets a takedown into half guard.
Matheus is trying to maintain the position but Rowser is very close to passing his half guard.
Matheus is staying active underneath Rowser, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Matheus pushes Rowser off looking to stand but Rowser dives back in and keeps control.
Rowser is keen to just control but Matheus is a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rowser in particular looking to stall.

Matheus kicks Rowser off and gets back to his feet.
Matheus stuffs the takedown attempt from Rowser. Rowser gets slowly back to his feet.

Matheus gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Matheus ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Matheus no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Matheus wants to sweep but no luck.

Rowser postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Matheus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rowser, into his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rowser is trying to improve his position.

Matheus decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rowser to his feet.

Rowser gets the takedown into side control.
Rowser should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Matheus can't do much from the bottom here.
Rowser throwing strikes but Matheus manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Rowser tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dante Matheus will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Matheus misses with a takedown attempt - Rowser sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rowser closes the distance but Matheus moves to the side

and Matheus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rowser won't be happy with that.
Rowser wants to control but Matheus postures up.

Rowser tries to buck Matheus off but Matheus is having none of it.
Matheus tries to stand but Rowser is controlling his head.
Rowser is trying to control Matheus's posture but Matheus avoids it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matheus tries to stand but Rowser controls the position and pulls Matheus into his guard.

Matheus wants to pass the guard but Rowser is keeping the position.
Demetrius Rowser has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rowser wants to stand but Matheus is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rowser moves in looking to clinch but Matheus pushes him off.

Rowser fails with the takedown.

so Matheus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Matheus is looking to work some ground and pound but Rowser has wrist control.

Matheus is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rowser wants to stand and escape but Matheus is having none of it.

Rowser throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Dante Matheus showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Matheus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
